József Barsi finally in Hell :)
Wow, really crazy times!! Happy 30th Anniversary to this footage!!
Today (Saturday, June 29, 2024) marks exactly 30 years since this footage was originally filmed. Happy 30th Anniversary!! Awww, the kitty is so adorable!!! The guy had me laughing when he said he wanted to be a nude man when he grows up, lol!! I suppose your family and friends were very adventurous and fun to hang out with 30 years ago!
I can't believe they ever had something like this.
10:00 That's not really an answer, it's more of a brush off. Also gee that aged well. 10:25 Well there's a fuckin lie there
You're tone is so disrespectful for the story You're telling. Shame on you ya massive FU*K*ng PR**k.
Them trying to market a DVD player with restrictions as revolutionary must have been funny even at the time.
Circuit City's greed and attempt to strongarm the home media market blinded them from seeing how bad this idea really was. I'm glad this crap didn't take off. Can you imagine how horrible this would have been for the format?
D I V X
Wow! DIVX is going to be a huge hit and ensure Circuit City is going to be around forever!
Judith Barsi's father was a heartless monster!
I heard about DivX once in the nineties and never thought of it again.
As a kid, I thought they were singing, “If you’re hurt, call Joynes and Beaver!”
It comes with a 25 foot phone line? Hell yeah, sign me up!
"rivals movie theaters around" LOL.
God everything used to be so boring - takes me back to working at Circuit City... the training videos were torture.
Can I rent this at Blockbuster?
I used to have a high school principal and his name was Ed McGhee, I don't know if he's still alive or not
Ahh, I can smell the disk rot from here.
interesting youtube relic
i remember hearing about this a little bit when it first came out. however, i didn't end up getting a dvd player until the jan/feb or 2001 or so. until then i stuck with VHS. i didn't think it was a good idea back then.. many things have come and gone over the years but this was probably the biggest flop of all time.. even the concept of it.. paying to "view" it each time? in the long run it was cheaper just to buy the dvd outright, and if you didn't like it, you could sell it.. and make some of your money back. terrible and poorly executed idea. can't imagine for its small lifespan that they actually sold alot of these, just a bad concept all the way around and any tech savy consumer would know... or even a novice that is is a bad deal.
They had a playlist of season one and two of the show on UA-cam and now I discovered today that the videos are hidden!
She is too adorable
I saw your comment on another video. Do you own a Cassette Copy of the Fecal Matter - Illiteracy Will Prevail demo tape done by Kurt Cobain and Dale Crover?
nyugodjanak békében 🖤
tldr: 10:00
🤣😂🤣😂 Ahhhh hindsight.... 😂😂😂
Your tone is all wrong for the content
He chose poorly.
these raisins are more talented than Justin Beiber
I didnt know anybody that had this nor used it.. was good in theory but was just dumb..
I remember trying to convert a few DVDs to Divx but it would not play on my DVD player. But the much larger sized 1:1 copy would play. I am still doing it that way..
And if the break-away sway pole... breaks away early?
I want to pick one of these up. Where can I find a Circuit City? I found an old phonebook that had the address, and when I showed up there I came across a bunch of lot lizards.
It is next to the Blockbuster and Radio Shack.
Calling on the phone to wait and finally explain that I wanna pay again to watch again? Then give out my credit card info again? Soooo all that vs rewinding the vhs you buy or just buying the dvd in the first place...and you don't have to have it connected to the phone line! To think CC put $100MIL into this...might as well have wiped their ass on it
Those people didn't even believe it when they said it themselves...lol. Boy, hook it up to your phone line, all it takes is your included 25 foot phone cord and a splitter!
I saw this first when i was a kid watching MWC..haha. Sold my Commodore 64 and got a guitar because of it. and have been playing ever since. Fantastic insurance against loneliness, hard times and boredom. All from this. Thanks Mr King. You left your mark.
Stick to what you know, storebrand credit cards high interest and late fees. By the way, did anyone know that Carmax is owned by circuit city?
If this thing had killed DVD, would they just have relegated the rest of the world to sticking with VHS? They wouldn't be able to do this shit internationally.
“They found that consumer demand for [widescreen]’s just not there” My brother in Christ people paying 400 dollars for a DVD player in the late 90s are the EXACT demographic of people who ARE demanding widescreen lmao. Nearly all the laserdiscs released after 1995 were widescreen for that exact reason!
“People are gonna wanna give them away, sell them at garage sales….” Boy that salesman had it RIGHT.
"what if Divx goes out of buisness" "that's a fair question, but heres the thing, that's almost in possible" people in 2024 - OH REALLY NOW????
@10:00 HA HA HA HA HA!!!!
10:00 WHAT IF DIVx GOES UNDER...
9:59 - I guess hell has frozen over.
I really don’t see how anyone thought this was a good idea at the time. But then again, hindsight is 20/20.
Like someone else succinctly said, “this is what happens when you have MPA/entertainment attorneys crafting home video retail…”
This Joynes & Bieber Jingle Is Part Of My Childhood
I would listen to their ads on the radio sometimes. 📻📡
Movie studios thought this was their golden goose. A DVD you had to continuously pay to watch
what if the sun dont shine
